You may have known that companies match their employee’s monetary donations to non-profits, but did you know that many employers also match volunteer hours with cash grants? These corporate philanthropy programs are usually called Volunteer Match or Time Matching.
According to Independent Sector, in WA a volunteer hour is worth $27.54. If a coach or team parent volunteers an average of 10 hours per week that is over $275 a week. For four months, that quickly adds up to over $4,400 that your employer could be writing on a check to Mukilteo Little League!
Below is a list of local employers that have been known to have such programs. Every company has different ways to sign up or report your hours. Even if you don’t see your employer on this list, please check with your human resources department!
